Motorcycle rider killed in Park County

A man is dead after colliding with a semi on Saturday, north of Fairplay.

The Colorado State Patrol says it happened on Colorado Highway 285.

A 2015 Indian Vintage motorcycle driven by, Floyd Howard, 72, of Highlands Ranch, CO, was traveling
southbound when he failed to negotiate a slight curve and traveled into the northbound lanes directly in the path of a 2015 International Semi.

The semi was pulling a trailer, and was being operated by James Starry, 65, of Aurora, CO. He wasn’t injured.

The highway was closed for about four hours.

Howard was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
