Viral video shows Colorado Springs police Tase wanted felon

A wanted felon in Colorado Springs was caught by police Wednesday, but the actual capture is making waves on the internet after a video shows an officer deploy a Taser on the suspect.

It happened in the 3600 block of E. Uintah Street when 37-year-old Lilton Maestas was contacted by an officer. Police said they received information that he was possibly armed.

Maestas fled, and the officer gave multiple commands to stop and surrender. Maestas didn’t stop, so the officer used his Taser. Maestas fell to the ground and was taken into custody.

Police say Maestas was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained when he fell.

Maestas will be booked into the El Paso County Jail for the felony assault warrant.
