Storms return to the area today – 8/14/18

TODAY: We begin our Tuesday with sunshine and comfortable temperatures in Southern Colorado. Between 12 and 3PM, showers and storms develop over the mountains and in the foothills and spread east through the evening. Severe weather is not big threat today, but a couple of those storms could become strong. They will move out over the plains after 6PM and stay fairly scattered through tonight. Highs today will be in the 80s to near 90 with 70s in the mountains.

TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy skies will lows in the 50s and 60s. You’ll notice some 40s in the mountains.

EXTENDED: Tomorrow brings the chance for more strong, to maybe even severe storms. Hail and gusty winds would be the primary threats as these develop in the afternoon. Moisture chances will be in abundance as we head into the weekend. Highs stay in the 80s and 90s, with 70s over the high terrain. Things don’t look like they will be drying out any time soon, which will be good for our current drought situation.
