More storms in the forecast this afternoon – 8/8/28

TODAY: We will see areas of fog to start things out today, with clearing moving in by the mid-morning hours. Any storms over the far eastern plains should clear out by the time the commute is underway. We will see sunshine and some clouds through the morning before storms ramp up this afternoon. I think mountain cities could see a shower or storm as early as 12PM, but more likely closer to 2-3PM. The lower elevations along and near I-25 also have the best chance of a storm around 2PM today. A few storms are possible over the eastern plains in the evening, but most of the action should stay farther west. Highs today will be in the 70s and 80s.

TONIGHT: We will dry things out tonight and keep the clouds around. Lows will be in the 50s and 60s. You can expect 40s in the mountains!

EXTENDED: Shower and storm chances look more isolated over the area for Thursday and Friday before the pattern changes. By Saturday, we dry things out and keep it that way through Tuesday. Fire danger could start to increase some, now that we are expecting dry skies for more than 2 days in a row.
