Colorado Springs police arrest man in group linked to 127 burglaries

A 26-year-old man was caught breaking into a Buffalo Wild Wings in north Colorado Springs, and police say they were able to link him to a group responsible for 127 burglaries in the city since March.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, investigators had been looking into the string of burglaries since identifying the pattern in May. One person, 24-year-old Rayvaughn Milne, was arrested in late May, and three other suspects were identified.

Investigators used the information they had about the suspects to set up surveillance on one of them, and at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Devin Scott was seen breaking the front window of the Buffalo Wild Wings on N. Academy Blvd. to get inside, police said.

Scott tried unsuccessfully to break into the safe, but then he left out the back door and returned to his vehicle in a nearby neighborhood. That’s when officers took him into custody, and police say he’s facing burglary charges.

Police say more arrests are possible, and a 17-year-old allegedly connected to the group is already in custody on unrelated charges.
