Texas man killed in Baca Co. crash

A Texas man was killed in a two-vehicle crash north of Springfield in Baca County.

Colorado State Patrol says 35-year-old Justin Murdock, from Gruver, TX, was driving north on Colorado Highway 287 Wednesday night when his truck drifted into the northbound lane. That’s when he struck a semi truck driven by a man from Canada. Both vehicles rolled following the collision.

Murdock was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi caught fire, but the driver and his passenger got out safely and only suffered minor injuries.

Alcohol is being considered a factor in this crash, however, it remains under investigation.
