Colorado Springs Fire Department rescinds burn restriction

The burn restriction order that was put in place by the Colorado Springs Fire Department last month has been rescinded, the department announced Thursday.

It comes after the city has seen rainstorms every day this week. According Fire Capt. Brian Vaughan, outdoor burning regulations will now return to normal enforcement.

The restriction was put in place on June 8 due to extremely dry conditions.

Stage 1 fire restrictions are still in place for El Paso County, which means no open burning outside the city limits.
