Flash flooding possible today – 7/15/18

TONIGHT: Flash flood watches are in effect for the Pikes Peak Region, Fremont County and the southern mountains through tomorrow afternoon. Areas of moderate to heavy rain will continue through this evening, shifting out toward the Plains through the overnight. Isolated totals of 1-2″ are possible by midnight. Lows cool to the 50s and 60s across the board.

EXTENDED: More rain is in the forecast for tomorrow, along with the possibility of flash flooding over area burn scars. Highs will be much cooler because of this rain. We should only warm into the 70s and 80s for afternoon highs. Lesser rain chances will be seen on Tuesday, before we dry out completely on Wednesday and Thursday. This means highs will become hot again and will be topping off in the 80s, 90s and 100s. We slowly ramp up the moisture Friday through Sunday, though chances don’t look as heavy as this weekend.
