U.S. service member dies in Afghanistan

According to the U.S. Department of Defense, a U.S. service member has tragically died during combat operations in Afghanistan.

An Afghan security officer was also killed, and several others were severely wounded. Right now, the identity of the service member is being held until the victim’s family is informed.
