Hot weekend with isolated storms – 07/07/18

Today: Are you ready for a warm-up? Temperatures soar to the upper 80s in Colorado Springs and the mid-to-upper 90s in Pueblo! We’ll have lots of sunshine, too. This will make temperatures feel even warmer. Enjoy our quiet weather! We only have a small chance for isolated storms. These thunderstorms will primarily take place over the mountains and mountain valleys, but we can’t rule out a spotty storm moving into the Palmer Divide and Teller County areas. The biggest threat with storms will be heavy rain, so we’ll have to monitor area burn scars for any flash flooding that may develop.

Tonight: Overnight lows drop to the 50s and 60s under mainly clear skies. Storms come to an end.

Extended: There will be nearly daily chances for scattered storms in the mountains. Whenever we have the potential for heavy rain, we’ll have to carefully watch any storms that move over recent burn scars. Temperatures stay hot this weekend. Into the middle of next week, we’ll have increasing chances for storms in the lower terrain.
