Sketch released of person of interest in Bailey teen’s homicide

Police in Park County have a new lead in the homicide of a 17-year-old who was found dead inside a home in Bailey that caught fire last December.

A sketch was released Friday of a man who was seen at the house on Dec. 1. That’s when Maggie Long’s body was found inside her burned home. The image also shows two types of vehicles that are being sought in connection with the case.

Police said Long was reported missing when she didn’t show up to a concert at her high school. Investigators told our partners at Denver7 that they believe she was killed sometime between 3 and 7 p.m. before her home was set on fire.

Several items were also taken from the home, including a gun safe and two firearms.

The FBI said in February there was a high probability that someone in the Bailey area had come into contact with the person involved in Long’s death, Denver7 reported.

If you have information about the case, call police at 303-239-4243.
