Pueblo police investigating 2 similar attempted kidnappings

Pueblo police are now investigating a report of an attempted kidnapping that’s very similar to another one being investigated Tuesday by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, signifying that there may be a predator searching for a victim.

We reported when PCSO warned about the attempt on Tuesday. A 15-year-old boy was walking to school when a white man with brown hair and scruffy facial hair drove up in a silver car and then grabbed him. The teen was able to escape.

Pueblo police say that a similar incident happened last Thursday. A woman reported that her son was waiting outside Heaton Middle School when a silver or dirty white car approached him. The driver matched the description of the previous incident, and he told the boy his father had sent him to pick him up.

The boy didn’t believe the driver, so he pointed to an oncoming car and said, “There’s my dad now,” Pueblo police said in a statement. The man then drove away.

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says a 15-year-old boy was reportedly almost kidnapped while he was on his way to school Tuesday morning.

According to a news release, the boy told police he noticed he was being followed by a silver coupe with faded paint. He said the male driver of the car rolled down the window and kept asking to give the boy a ride because it was raining.

The victim says the car then drove down the road before the driver got out of the car and tried to grab him by the arm. The boy told police he was able to kick the suspect and run away before hiding in a nearby drainage ditch.

The student wasn’t injured.

PCSO says the suspect is described as a 30-to-40-year-old white man standing about 6’4″. He had light brown short hair and scruffy facial hair.
