2nd person found guilty for drug-related murder in Peyton

Another man charged with murder in connection with a man found dead along Highway 24 in Peyton was found guilty by a jury Tuesday.

Anthony Loya was found guilty of kidnapping and murder for the death of Lawrence Gloster in April 2017. Gloster was allegedly murdered over missing drugs.

Gloster was shot 13 times and also suffered blunt force trauma.

Another suspect, Jorge Galvan-Flores, was also found guilty of murder in the case. Galvan-Flores had said during his trial that Loya was responsible for the killing.

Loya faces life in prison without parole. He’ll be sentenced on June 25.

One of the suspects arrested in connection with the man found murdered along Highway 24 near Peyton was in court on Tuesday.

At a proof of evidence hearing, detective and forensic experts testified against Jorge Galvan-Flores, also known as “bird.”

They described Galvan-Flores as a drug kingpin and said missing drugs led to the murder of Lawrence Gloster back in April.

Detectives also say one of the other suspects, “Anthony Loya,” confirmed to them he is a “South Side Sureño” gang member.

Galvan-Flores denies killing Gloster and claims the killer could be Anthony Loya.

Gloster was shot 13 times and also suffered blunt force trauma.

Galvan-Flores, Loya, and another man, Israel Jimenez-Roldan, are charged with murder in connection with this case.

The hearing for Galvan-Flores resumes on August 30 at 2 p.m.
