4 new routes take off from Colorado Springs Airport this week

Frontier Airlines is expanding the number of destinations from Colorado Springs Airport, and four inaugural routes for the low-cost carrier prepared for take-off Sunday and Monday.

You can now hop on a Frontier flight from COS to Atlanta, Georgia; Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota; Seattle, Washington; and San Antonio, Texas.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday for the San Antonio flight — the other routes had their inaugural flights Sunday.

These new flights follow the announcement that Las Vegas-based airline Allegiant Air will stop serving COS at the end of April. Despite that departure due to dwindling ticket sales, the airport as a whole has reported a 17 percent growth in passenger traffic from last year.
