YouTube cracks down on gun policies, prohibits certain firearm content

YouTube prohibits gun demonstration videos, links that sell guns and more as the video-sharing website tightens its gun policy.

The changes made to the firearm content policies happened this week and prohibits content that, “provides instructions on manufacturing a firearm, ammunition, high capacity magazine, homemade silencers/suppressors, or certain firearm accessories.”

The site also prohibits the content that intends to sell firearms and bans direct links to sites that sell firearms and firearm accessories.

YouTube’s policies also state videos that include instructions on how to convert a firearm to automatic or simulated automatic firing capabilities are also prohibited.
