Wind alert with snow ahead – 02/19/18

Today: This morning, we’re dealing with pockets of dense fog. This could be creating some slick spots and is lowering visibility. We’re tracking an active pattern across the area! Today, we have a wind alert level one in effect for most areas. There’s uncertainty regarding how strong our wind speeds will be, but gusts could reach at least the 30s. It will even be a borderline wind alert level two for Teller County where gusts could blow up to 50 mph. This will be elevating fire danger, so stay weather aware. Today (primarily in the afternoon and evening), there could be some light rain that converts to snow. Some slick spots are possible.

Tonight: Only minor accumulations are possible this afternoon into tomorrow. In fact, snow will only be on-and-off Tuesday – for the most part, it will take place in the afternoon and evening. Overnight, lows drop to the teens under mostly cloudy skies. Be prepared for a few icy patches!

Extended: Temperatures drop quite drastically Tuesday; highs tomorrow only reach the 20s and 30s! We stay chilly on Wednesday. Into the end of your work week, we have slight chances for a few showers. However, chances aren’t looking too impressive right now. Temperatures warm to the 50s Thursday.
