Colorado Springs man dies a week after being hit by car

A 41-year-old man died from his injuries Friday after being struck by a car in a south Colorado Springs intersection earlier this month.

Colorado Springs police say Michael D. Miller was hit when he tried to cross the intersection at S. Nevada Ave. and E. Las Vegas Street on Feb. 9, and he was taken to a hospital. He died Feb. 16.

Police said the driver who struck Miller wasn’t speeding or impaired and that the traffic signal turned green as Miller crossed the street. No charges are expected to be filed against the driver.

It’s the sixth traffic-related fatality in Colorado Springs so far this year – there were three traffic-related fatalities in the city in the same period last year.
