National Signing Day Part Two

Signing up to play football at the Air Force Academy takes a special kind of man. Jaylen Thomas of Vista Ridge says he’s always wanted to be a Falcon, “It feels like a dream, I haven’t waken up yet. All my hard work paid off. Getting a new brotherhood, playing division 1 football while getting a great education,” says Thomas.

Thomas was recruited both for his versatility on the field and his leadership, “I’m not much of a vocal leader, but I lead by example and I can see other kids following that way,” says Thomas.

Luke Trujillo of Discovery Canyon will join Thomas at the Academy. He’ll be playing golf, “For the longest time I’ve wanted to go into the military, it’s just the best lifestyle I can think of,” says Trujillo.

On one of the biggest days of his life so far, Trujillo says nothing else mattered much, “It’s actually kind of funny, I woke up this morning and didn’t really care what was going on at school today. Like any tests or quizzes, because I’ve been anticipating this day for a really long time,” says Trujillo.

For these two, being close to home was also a priority, add Doherty’s Joe Golden to that list,

“It’s great so that my parents can still come to the games and stuff,” says Golden.

Joe will be good as gold at the University of Northern Colorado, where he already feels like family,

“It was just a real family culture, I have family going there already my sister goes there. It was the easy option for me,” says Golden.
