Memorial set up in Colorado Springs for killed El Paso County deputy

A memorial for fallen El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputy Micah Flick has begun to collect flowers, cards, flags and balloons outside of the El Paso County Sheriff’s office.

“It’s hard to even absorb right now,” said one passerby.

“Just looking at him, not knowing him, he’s in a great place,” said another.

One man said Flick helped him while he was going through a tough time.

“I remember him and I told my wife I said I know that officer and I was deeply touched because I had some talks with him and he encouraged me and was one of the guys that gave me some good advice on turning my life around.”

A funeral will be held for Flick on Saturday at 1 p.m.
