CSPD officer injured in Monday night shooting remains committed to serving community

CSPD Officer Marcus Yanez and his wife Lauren thanked the community in a public statement on Thursday, three days after the fatal deputy shooting at the Murray Hill Apartments in Colorado Springs.

CSPD released the statement from the Yanez family:

We want to thank everyone for the immense outpouring of love and support for our family. Meanwhile, our hearts are completely broken for Micah’s family. Please know we will continue to be committed to serving this beautiful community, Colorado Springs.

Marcus and Lauren Yanez

Marcus is currently recovering from surgery.
