Teen arrested for Colorado Springs crash that killed 13-year-old girl

Colorado Springs police arrested a 17-year-old male Monday for a rollover crash that killed a 13-year-old girl.

According to a news release sent Wednesday, the teen was arrested and charged with multiple felonies and traffic offenses for the Jan. 13 crash that killed Nicole Heitman.

Police say the 17-year-old was driving the SUV when it crashed on Powers Boulevard, north of Woodmen Road. He was not identified because of his age.

The teen was charged with class-four felony vehicular homicide, class-five felony vehicular assault, reckless driving, violating restrictions for minor drivers, and violating a child restraint system.
