Wind alert day – 01/12/18

Today: Winds will be gusty today! That’s why we have a wind alert level one in effect. We could see gusts to the 20s and 30s across southern Colorado! However, we could be dealing with even stronger winds at locations like the Air Force Academy and Teller County in the Pikes Peak region. There, gusts could reach the 40s! Highs will reach the 50s in the lower elevations with the 30s for the local mountains. Partly sunny skies are expected. We can’t rule out a few stray showers in Colorado Springs and Woodland Park, but this would certainly be the exception rather than the rule.

Tonight: Mainly clear skies take us into early Saturday morning. Lows drop to the teens and 20s. Winds shouldn’t be be dying down.

Extended: Your weather looks to be relatively quiet the next several days. Temperatures this weekend range in the 40s and 50s with mostly sunny skies. Monday, we could be tracking a few changes in the form of a few showers and cooler weather. There’s lots of uncertainty regarding what to expect, so we’re keeping things dry. Temperatures will return to the 50s next Wednesday.
