Colorado Springs police arrest man wanted for attempted murder after standoff

A 28-year-old man wanted for attempted murder was arrested Thursday night after a standoff at a southeast Colorado Springs hotel.

CSPD says they went to a hotel in the 2100 block of Aerotech Drive and found Richard Torres, who was wanted for attempted first-degree murder and several other charges.

Torres refused to leave his hotel room, so the Tactical Enforcement Unit was called to the hotel for assistance. Police said after a short standoff, Torres came out of the room and was arrested.

Police said no one was injured during the incident.

A mugshot hasn’t yet been made available, but KRDO is working on obtaining more information.
