Colorado Springs man guilty of manslaughter in falling death of 7-year-old

A Colorado Springs man pleaded guilty to manslaughter Wednesday for the death of a young boy who fell about 100 feet in the Cheyenne Canyon area.

Kyle Clayton McClain was with Kaivion Eleby, 7, near Gold Camp Road in March when Eleby fell to his death.

A grand jury indicted McClain and found that the area where Eleby fell was an “obvious and apparent danger.” The grand jury also found that alcohol was a factor in the incident.

McClain will be sentenced for the class 4 felony at 2 p.m. on February 21.
