Man having “medical episode” dies in crash in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs police say a crash on Friday morning was caused by a driver having a medical episode.

The accident occurred in the 900 block of Vindicator Drive at around 11:23 a.m.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the driver who caused the head-on collision was having a “medical episode,” causing the vehicle to drift out of its lane and hitting another vehicle.

That driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two inside the other vehicle were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Drivers should expect delays in the area of Vindicator Drive for several hours.

All lanes of Vindicator Drive were reopened, according to Colorado Springs police.
