Local students to get special “virtual reality” lesson on World War II

Students at Lewis-Palmer Middle School are getting a special lesson on World War II Tuesday.

Time-Life is bringing a program called “Remembering Pearl Harbor” to the school for the next week.

It is a virtual reality experience which immerses students in the lesson. It will include video as well as the first-hand story of the Pearl Harbor attack by Colorado Springs man Lt. Jim Downing.

Students will be placed in a virtual room with several historic items they can examine including newspapers and other documents.

Check out a video of the program HERE.
