Undecided voters weigh in on second presidential debate

Undecided voters tuned into the second presidential debate on Sunday night and shared their thoughts after it wrapped up.

Students gathered for a watch party at University of Colorado Colorado Springs.

Undecided voters told KRDO NewsChannel 13 what they wanted to see during the debate to help them make a decision.

“I’m trying to sort through the lies and the truths,” said Keturah Spurlock.

“I would like to see them talk about their specific stances on political issues. I don’t want to see anything about social stuff necessarily,” said Hannah Dart.

During the debate, several moments generated comments and laughs from the crowd of students. At the beginning of the debate, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump responded to the comments he made in 2005 about women.

Later in the debate, students chuckled when a town hall attendee asked both candidates to say one thing they liked about the other candidate.

Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton said Trump has wonderful children and she respects the way he raised them.

Trump said Clinton is a fighter that doesn’t give up.

After the debate, undecided voters were asked who they thought won the debate and who they will vote for next month.

“Hillary would have won the debate because more often than not, she was able to answer the question itself that was asked. When Trump was posed questions, he would go on about his own policies that would sometimes that had nothing to do with the question,” said Spurlock.

“I am going to vote third party because I don’t like either of them,” said Dart.

The next presidential debate will be in 10 days in Nevada.
