Springs police working to install patrol vehicle body cams

Colorado Springs police are now installing body cameras in patrol vehicles.

Currently they are implementing the routers that will help run the system in the vehicles at Gold Hill.

They’ve hit a bit of a setback, uploading data for the cameras will now take at least another three weeks.

The department will first roll out 65 cameras at Gold Hill during the week of September 19.

The station will pilot the system for 30 days then distribute the rest of the cameras to the rest of the department.
