Mountain lion seen at Colorado amusement park

Colorado wildlife managers are attempting to capture a mountain lion that has been seen at a Christmas-themed amusement park.

Frank McGee of Colorado Parks and Wildlife tells The Gazette that a trap with meat will be placed at the North Pole amusement park with the intention of capturing and relocating the animal.

A mountain lion has been spotted several times by park staff over the last few weeks lurking at the park in the small community of Cascade at the base of Pikes Peak west of Colorado Springs.

Park owner Tom Haggard says the lion seems to be eyeing deer kept in a pen at the park.

The park has erected barriers to keep people from the path leading to the deer pen.
