B Street suspicious package was garbage

A suspicious package that was investigated near Fort Carson Monday morning turned out not to be dangerous.

The suspicious item was found near the train tracks off of B Street.

B Street is located just south of Colorado Springs and just north of Fort Carson. It connects to Highway 85/87 on the east and S. Academy Boulevard on the south.

Authorities say the item turned out to be an old smoke canister that likely fell off of a passing train at some point.
