Incline to shut down for repairs

A major tourist attraction is scheduled to be closed for over three months starting at the end of August.

The Incline in Manitou Springs will be shut down starting Saturday, August 20 for the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon and will remain that way until December.

The Incline will be closed on August 20 and 21 to help cut down on foot traffic for the Pikes Peak event and will continue to be closed so crews can make repairs on the old railway bed.

Officials did not give a specific date on when the Incline will be open again.
