El Paso Co. Sheriff’s Office on high alert amidst national attacks on law enforcement

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is urging deputies to be more vigilant in the wake of the recent attacks on law enforcement.

Deputies are urged to be on a higher sense of alert when responding to calls.

The county’s undersheriff said some of his deputies have noticed the public paying closer attention during traffic stops.

Despite concerns over the recent attacks, he said the office isn’t in a position to order two-man patrols.

“It’s not only manpower, but it’s the volume of calls versus the number of officers we have working the streets.”

The Sheriff’s Office says it has received a lot of support from the community in the wake of those shootings in Dallas and Louisiana.
