Hundreds gathered to remember Harry Hoth

the community remembered a broadcasting pioneer, philanthropist and former colorado springs mayor today. a memorial service was held for harry hoth. hundreds of family, friends and community members packed the “shrine of remembrance” chapel this morning. the marines sent hoth to colorado college for officer training in the 19-40’s where he met his wife, joan, and started a family. he began working for krdo-am radio, bringing television to the pikes peak region and eventually rising to president and owner of pikes peak broadcasting. he was a strong supporter of the military and promoter of local sports. he spearheaded many community projects, making sure colorado springs had plenty of water in the 19-60’s for future growth and creating the broadmoor world arena. harry hoth died july 12th. he was
