Candidate for El Paso Co. Commissioner requests vote re-count

One of the candidates for El Paso County Commissioner District 4 is asking for a re-count of the votes from the Primary Election.

Scott Turner notified Chuck Broerman, El Paso County Clerk and Recorder and the Paso County Election Official, that he wanted a re-count of the votes from the primary on June 28 and that he would pay for it.

“Out of over 6800 votes cast in Commissioner District 4 it actually came down to a 34 vote difference or 18 votes for me or 18 votes for my opponent or .002 percent,” Turner said “and after discussing this with my family and my supporters the consensus was that after so much hard work and effort we could not rest until we had done everything available to ensure the outcome is correct.”

An automatic re-count by the Election Official would have been triggered if the difference in the vote was 18 votes or less or one half of one percent.
