CSP investigating fatal motorcycle-vehicle collision in Mineral Co.

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a motorcycle-vehicle collision that left a 62-year-old Colorado man dead on Friday night.

The crash happened on Colorado Highway 160 near mile marker 168 in Mineral County at around 6 p.m.

According to CSP, the 62-year-old of Morrison, Colo. was driving his 2007 Harley Davidson in the right-hand lane of Colorado Highway 160 when he tried to get over into the left-hand lane, striking a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup.

The Morrison man was ejected from his motorcycle, where he came to rest in the roadway. He was transported to the Rio Grande Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

The identity of the deceased has not been released pending the notification of the next of kin.

Patrol does not believe alcohol or speeding contributed to the crash.

This is still an ongoing investigation.
