Springs police say west side death ruled homicide

A man who was found dead on the west side of Colorado Springs over the weekend has been identified.

Darnell Dwayne Reedy, 32, was stabbed to death. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Police say Reedy’s body was found at the Ridgeview Motel in the 3500 block of W. Colorado Avenue at 3:37 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016.

Chezarea Jones, 30, was arrested in connection to this case. She faces a charge of second degree murder.

There have been 11 homicides in Colorado Springs so far this year. There had been 9 homicides in the city at this time last year.
