Colorado Springs Utilities is continuing its work to install a scrubber at the Ray Nixon Power Plant, near Fountain.

The 150-foot scrubber is designed to help reduce sulfur dioxide emissions and help further improve air quality. It’s part of an effort to comply with the EPA’s Regional Haze Rule.

The project’s budget is set at $60 million. The goal is to complete the project by fall 2017.
