Man dies after being hit by vehicle on Highway 24

The Manitou Springs Police Department says a man has died after he was hit by a vehicle on eastbound Highway 24 Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened at around 1:20 p.m. near mile marker 299.

The eastbound lanes were closed while police investigated.

The man who died was in his 50s. His name hasn’t been released.

Police say the man may have ran out in front of the vehicle on purpose.
