AFA cadets use part of holiday weekend to help army vet

Some generous Air Force cadets continued a long-standing tradition on Saturday by volunteering to help an army veteran.

Ted Langowski is almost 93 years old and he told KRDO that he appreciates all the help he can get around his house.

“I don’t want to sit around and become an old man. I thought I could do it when I was 39, but I’m not 39, I’m 93. And I appreciate it. I really do,” said Langowski.

And that appreciation is what keeps the cadets coming back.

“He’s very self sufficient, doesn’t need me for anything really other than the heavy lifting. Great spirit, always has a positive outlook on life and it amazes me every time I interact with him,” said Lauren Casulli.

If you’d like to volunteer in the future, there will be a sign-up sheet at the Air Force’s annual Wing Open event.
