Remember Crystal Pepsi? It’s coming back
Pepsi has announced that its iconic 90s clear soda will return to store shelves later this summer, but only for a limited time.
Crystal Pepsi made a splash when it debuted in 1992. Despite initial excitement surrounding the soft drink when it was first released, sales of Crystal Pepsi quickly plummeted. It was taken off the market in 1994.
Crystal Pepsi was offered for a limited-time in the U.S. through a sweepstakes on the Pepsi Pass app in December 2015 .
The company says that since then, there has been overwhelming fan demand for the product to make a return.
“We’ve always had a special place in our heart for Crystal Pepsi, and there has been a huge groundswell of support to bring it back,” said Pepsi Senior Marketing Director Stacy Taffet , “What better way to celebrate this iconic 90s cola than to introduce a new take on one of the most beloved games of the decade. Totally rad!”, she said.
20 oz. bottles of Crystal Pepsi will hit store shelves in Canada on July 11 and in the United States on August 8.
