Walsenburg police investigate robbery, vehicle theft

Walsenburg police are searching for three men involved in a robbery at a pharmacy and vehicle theft. The robbery happened Monday night in the 600 block of Main Street in Walsenburg.

Investigators say three masked men, one of whom was carrying a gun, threatened customers and employees in the store. Two people were assaulted.

The men took a large amount of prescription medication, before driving away in a tan SUV northbound on Main Street.

The tan Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo was found shortly later. Officers discovered that the SUV was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of West 7 th Street. Another vehicle parked in the same block was also damaged in an apparent attempt to steal it. It is unknown if any other car thefts could be connected.

Officers from other departments assisted in trying to track the suspects in the area of Highway 10 and I-25, but the men were able to get away.

The three men are described as having dark complexions and being fairly slender.
