Opponents ‘sound off’ about Colorado Springs land deal

The Colorado Springs City Council is expected to vote on a controversial land deal next week. But Thursday night, those against the land swap with the Broadmoor and the city voiced their opinion to council, and things took a strange turn at one point.

High school student Jackson Fraizer literally sounded off against the deal. He played his trumpet before taking the podium.

The Broadmoor would get an area called Strawberry Fields, that many, including Frazier, believe will be ruined by the hotel.

“This is really something that would be in better hands with the people rather than the Broadmoor because I don’t know how well they’re going to take care of it,” Fraizer said.

The Broadmoor says it will turn the area into a riding stable and picnic area.
