Pueblo Mother’s Day tradition continues

A longstanding tradition in Pueblo continued Sunday with the men cooking Mothers Day brunch for the women.

The men at the St. Mary Help of Christian Church have been cooking for the women for more than 60 years.

The brunch gives the women an opportunity to sit back and relax.

And although the moms say it is nice to be served, it was all about spending time with their families.

“I love it ’cause most of my family comes here, on my dad’s side, most of my family comes here for Mother’s Day, so I get to see all of them here and then I get to go spend time with my mom’s side after this,” said Ciarra Isringhausen, a mom.

The younger men are learning from the ones who have been cooking for years, keeping the tradition alive.
