UPDATE: Mother of missing Colorado Springs girl facing kidnapping charges

Colorado Springs Police say America Arellano, the girl at the center of an Amber Alert, has been found safe.

The Aurora Police Department responded to the 1300 block of South Geneva Way in Aurora. They found America inside the apartment. Her mother, Wendy Arellano was arrested for second-degree kidnapping.

America was taken from Carver Elementary in Colorado Springs, which is in the 4700 block of Artistic Circle, near N. Carefree Circle and Oro Blanco Drive, on the east side of the city.

Police say her 25-year-old mother took her from a hallway in the school.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation said the two may be with another man, 32-year-old Heriberto Gonzalez Hernandez.

The three might be driving in a grey Dodge Avenger with the Colorado license plate DQH-431.

Authorities are still looking for Hernandez and the grey Avenger.
