Crews battling grass fire near Pulpit Rock Park in Colorado Springs

Firefighters are working on a grass fire in the Pulpit Rock Park area Sunday (04/24/16) afternoon.

Nine homes were evacuated during the fire. The fire department said about 15 acres burned.

No homes were damaged and no one was injured.

High winds are also helping to spread the flames. Smoke can be seen from I-25 near the N. Nevada exit.

Video post to the KRDO Facebook page from Cooper Davidson shows smoke in the area. Cooper says, “Hearing sirens in rockrimmon, go outside and see the smoke. This is looking southeast towards I25.”

The size of the fire is unknown at this time.
