Lawmakers discuss budget at Pueblo town hall gathering

With only 2/12 weeks left in this year’s state legislative session, two members of the Assembly were speaking in Pueblo Saturday morning.

The discussion centered on the state budget and the impact to Southern Colorado, including funding for CSU Pueblo and Lake Pueblo.

Rep. Deneya Esgar and Sen. Leroy Garcia also addressed important ballot initiatives that will be voted on in November.

Garcia says meetings like these are important so that people can become educated about state politics.

“It’s super important that people are involved in the process, that they’re informed, and we want to make sure that we’re helping provide a venue for constituents to come, be informed,” Garcia said.

Garcia says there are a lot of important topics left for state lawmakers to discuss this legislative session.
