Controversial land swap meeting to begin today

It’s been the topic of much discussion and the site at the center of a dispute, over a proposed land exchange.

A meeting will be held to discuss the controversial plan between the City of Colorado Srings and the Broadmoor.

The 189-acre property is in the north Cheyenne Canyon area,south of mesa avenue. The Broadmoor wants to put a picnic pavilion and horse stable for its guests on that property.

In exchange, the city would get full ownership of that land. That exchange includes the manitou incline and barr trail.

The meeting will be held right at the Parks Advisory Board Administrative office on Recreation Way at 7:30 a.m.

The meeting is open to the public.
