UPDATE: 3 arrested in connection to illegal marijauna grow in Pueblo County

UPDATE: Three people originally from Cuba have been arrested in connection to an illegal marijuana grow busted south of Pueblo last week.

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office said Elio Hernandez Delgado, 45; Eladio Hernandez Ponce, 36, and Anaili Garcia Toledo, 32 face charges of cultivation of marijuana.

The sheriff’s office seized about 180 plants from 6801 Greenhorn Creek Drive in the Hatchett Ranch area on April 5.

The three are originally from Cuba, but moved to Florida. Deputies said one of them recently bought the home in February.

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says it has executed its seventh search warrant in less than a week for an illegal marijuana grow involving people from Florida.

The most recent raid happened on Tuesday in the 6800 block of Greenhorn Creek Drive, which is in the Hatchett Ranch area south of Pueblo.

The sheriff’s office says it found 180 marijuana plants and an extravagant lighting system in the house.

The four people who were in the house are originally from Cuba but moved to Colorado from Miami.

Three of the four are facing drug charges. They have been identified as Eladio Ponce Hernandez, 36, Anaili Garcia Toledo, 32 and Elio Hernandez Delgado, 45.

Investigators say the suspects claimed they were operating a medical marijuana grow, but they did not have any legal documents to prove it.

Since March 30, 2016, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says its Narcotics Unit has seized more than 2,300 illegally grown marijuana plants from seven separate homes, including six in Pueblo West and one in South Pueblo County. Nine men, all from Florida, have been arrested in connection with those grows.
