Transit center offering free bus rides to UCCS students and staff

The Transit Center in Colorado Springs hopes to encourage students and staff at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs to ride the bus.

They transit system is offering free bus rides all week long. Mountain Metro’s goal is for more people on campus to use the bus system. They also hope to show the convenience and affordability of riding the bus.

“A lot of students don’t have a lot of money. Owning and operating a car for a full year is $8,000 to $9,000 so that’s a big saving students can have,” said Craig Blewitt with Mountain Metropolitan Transit.

The free bus rides run through Friday.
