UPDATE: Family asks for birthday cards for 7-year-old cancer survivor, receives thousands

A 7-year-old cancer survivor received thousands of birthday cards Wednesday, after his family asked for help to make his day special.

Logan Green has been through a lot more than most boys his age. Two years ago, he was diagnosed with brain cancer and given less than a week to live.

“The doctors just kept telling us that we needed to say our goodbyes. and that there was nothing else that could be done,” mom Crisandra Green said. “That was definitely the hardest day of our lives.”

But the Greens sought a second opinion, and doctors were able to miraculously remove the tumor.

“Doctors all said that they couldn’t believe a little boy was so strong and willing to fight to get his life back, and that’s exactly what he did,” Crisandra Green said.

Logan Green recovered, but last month, he felt the side effects of the radiation he underwent. Doctors diagnosed him with a condition known as moyamoya. It gave him strokes daily. He’s gone through two surgeries to correct the problem.

“He inspires us. He fights, so we have to fight even harder,” dad Richard Green said. “He’s a miracle kid for us, too.”

The Greens wanted to show Logan how big of a miracle he is for them and others. As they got ready to celebrate his birthday, they asked everyone to send him birthday cards.

On Tuesday, his Kindergarten class at Stetson Elementary School gave him a big surprise. Led by their teacher Mrs. Moore, the kids all came dressed as superheroes and one by one they gave him cards they made themselves.

“Logan’s class means the world to him,” mom Crisandra Green said.

Logan has received thousands of cards from all over the world, including Dubai and Scotland. His mom said each one is special to him.

“He wants to make sure he looks at everything,” she said. “He loves them. We’ve read every single card to him too.”

Birthday cards can be mailed to:
